S.C. Author Sean Keefer Featured at 'Coffee With the Authors' Series Sept. 1
On Sept. 1 from 10 to 11 a.m., Sunset River Marketplace art gallery in Calabash, N.C. begins its fall schedule of Coffee With the Authors events with Sean Keefer. The S.C. novelist grew up absorbing the styles, idiosyncrasies and culture of his home state. He attended the University of South Caroilna, studied law in North Carolina, traveled throughout much of North America, and finally settled back in Charleston, S.C.
“I instantly became enamored with the people as well as the city,” he says.
At some point, he remembers, he started writing. The words kept flowing. A page became a chapter; the chapter became his debut novel, “The Trust.” Published by Old Line Publishing in January, “The Trust quickly earned an IPPY award in the Mystery/Thriller/ Suspense genre as one of the best of 2011.
Bringing together an attorney named Noah Parks, the mysterious last will and testament of Leonardo Xavier Cross and a safety deposit box that no one knew existed, “The Trust” is a page turner from start to finish.
“The Trust” was named by Charleston magazine – along with the latest offerings from Dorothea Benton Frank and Mary Walker Monroe as required beach reading this summer.
According to the fledgling novelist, taking a novel from conceptualization to print has been peppered with increasing amounts of reward. He will be sharing his experiences at the gallery during his presentation.
When Keefer is not writing, he practices family law and works as a domestic mediator. He can often be found wanted the low country of South Carolina with his camera, playing guitar at assorted venues around Charleston or exploring the underwater world of the southeast.
The event at Sunset River Marketplace is free, but space is limited so reservations are required. Call 910-575-5999 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Join the mailing list for notice of future events at the same number and email address.
