Classes & Workshops Primarily Pastels Instructor Jane Staszak Thursdays 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon $80/four-week session For all experience levels. Individual attention is paid to everyone. Pine Needle Basketry Sept. 7, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. $65 Instructor Melanie Walter’s popular four-hour workshop where novices learn to coil their own baskets using long leaf pine needles. Introduction to Drawing Saturdays, Sept. 8 - 29. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. $75 Instructor Michelle R00;Harrison uses work by the masters to instruct and inspire students during the four-week session. Jewelry: Introduction to Wire-Wrapping Monday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. $45 During this two-hour workshop, learn the basics of jewelry making with professional artist Janette Montgomery. Includes materials. Oil Painting Fridays, Sept. 14 – Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. $80 Artist Elaine Bigelow teaches design, composition and technique. Figural Drawing w/Live Model Mondays, Sept. 17, Oct. 1, Oct. 15 and Oct. 29. $150 This four-class, life-drawing series with Richard Staat will stress drawing the entire figure. Instructor demonstrations and daily artist critiques. Includes model fees. Watercolor: Floral Design Workshop Oct. 19 - Oct. 20. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $195 Two-day workshop with instructor Linda Griffin emphasizes color and design as students explore the beauty and intricacies of flowers. Exhibitions Myrtle Beach Days Exhibition Sept. 1 – Oct. 3 (Book-Signing & Reception: Sept. 29, 1-4 p.m.) Artists Steve Jameson, Gwen Dumas; photographer Jack Thompson (“Memories of Myrtle Beach”) and authors Troy Nooe (“The Ocean Forest” and “Damn Yankee”) and Howie Thompson (“Fat Harold”) celebrate the Grand Strand Anything Goes by Art Matters artist group.
