Lynne holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles and Clothing from Indiana University, and has been sewing and working with fabric for over 50 years. She says she has tried everything from men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, to craft items, art-to-wear, accessories, home decorating, and now art quilt wall hangings. She has taught Clothing Construction at Winthrop University, and sewing, tailoring, and wearable art & accessories classes at stores and in her home for the last 20 years. For six years, Lynne owned a fabric store in South Carolina which sold high end fabrics, smocking and quilting supplies, and sewing machines. Lynne says she has always been fascinated by the color, the feel, and the textures of fabric. In her art quilts she has combined her love of ocean life and tropical themes with the color and textures of the fabric and the threads that she uses to "paint" her under water, or near-the-water scenes.
