Jim Horton, an artist and native of North Carolina, works in a Romantic Modern Style with a theatrical quality. His work is bold with direct statements, playing strong contrasts between darks and lights, giving close attention to lighting and the effects of lighting. The focal point pulls the viewer into the art then the viewer’s eyes drift around the piece as he is lead by the designs, shapes and color. Mr. Horton’s palette in painting is a full range of brilliant colors.
