Mary and her husband, Jim, relocated to Wilmington in 1995. Memberships in art groups including Associated Artists of Southport, Wilmington Art Association, Brunswick Arts Council, and Oak Island Are Guild enhance her rich experience of painting in N.C. She also feels her work with a weekly plein air group is a wonderful learning experience. However, her favorite subjects remain still life, where she can incorporate her own garden flowers with accessories acquired over a lifetime into meaningful paintings.
