ARTIST: DEBORAH ANDERSON

I was born in Maddock, North Dakota and moved to Raleigh, NC and lived there for more than 30 years. I took art lessons at the local Devils’ Lake, ND Technical College when I was about 12 because my dear mother thought I had talent. I’ve done workshops with Terry Isaac, Neal Anderson, Daniel Smith, Paco Young, John Banovich, and Dru Blair. My Federal Duck stamp entry this year was eighth in the contest so it will be part of the 2010 Federal Duck Stamp tour this year. My hope is to be the third woman to win that contest. I’ve worked in oil, watercolor, and now acrylic which I’ve stayed with because it can be used in an airbrush. I work with both airbrush and convention brushes on my paintings. My subjects are anything a person wants done or what I want to paint. God’s world is so beautiful. I want my paintings to reflect that beauty.
