Showcasing only artists from the two Carolinas, this eclectic gallery boasts an amazing offering of clay art and pottery; oil paintings, watercolors, mixed media, pastels and acrylics; plus award-winning metalworks, wood pieces, hand-blown glass, fiber art, artisan-made jewelry and more.
Since opening in 2002, Sunset River Marketplace has become a popular destination for visitors, a gathering place for artists and a center of the community.
Located onsite are a pottery studio, complete with two kilns; a custom master framing department; and art classrooms for workshops and ongoing instruction.
Please stop by for a cup of gourmet coffee or tea, or enjoy a glass of wine at one of the bistro tables. Or better yet, carry it with you as you meander through this warm comfortable space.

Dr. Debra Reble, licensed psychologist and author will speak at Sunset River Marketplace in Calabash, N.C. on Thursday, Sept. 16. The event, which is part of the gallery’s Coffee With the Authors series, runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Due to limited seating, reservations are required. Reble’s presentation, titled Cultivating Extraordinary Relationships, will provide valuable insights into recognizing behavioral patterns and negative energy that may be blocking personal fulfillment and sabotaging relationships.

Sunset River Marketplace in Calabash, N.C. has added oil painter Jim Horton to its list of art instructors. Beginning Thursday, June 3, he will teach an ongoing series of oil painting classes from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Each monthly session of four Thursday classes will cost $75 per student.

Sunset River Marketplace art gallery in Calabash, N.C. will feature Kimberly Dawn & Friends, a group show of works on canvas, wood, glass and metal by folk artists Kimberly Dawn Clayton, Shauna McGoldrick and Daniel MacCosbe. The show opens Monday, June 1 and runs through July 10. A reception to meet the artists will be held Thursday evening, June 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the gallery. The exhibition will present three distinct styles, with the common thread being that all are considered outsider art.

N.C. artist Sterling Edwards is set to conduct a five-day acrylics abstract workshop from September 20 - 24, at Sunset River Marketplace art gallery in Calabash, N.C. Known best for his abstract landscapes painted in transparent watercolor, Edwards has spent much of the past two years creating large acrylic abstracts.
The Sunset River workshop will be his first acrylics workshop and is already generating a good deal of interest in the coastal Carolina art community. In this class, he will demonstrate and explain his techniques for painting acrylic media abstract paintings on canvas. He plans to include information about painting on paper as well.
